Sandy Bay Osyris
Osyris quadripartita
Osyris Sandy Bay
An osyris on the east-side slopes above Sandy Bay, a plant of the coastal scrub.
Story & Significance
Osyris quadripartita is a quiet member of the Gibraltar maquis — semi-parasitic, drawing part of its living from the roots of its neighbours. Its small berries turn from green to red to black, feeding the birds of the sunny eastern slopes above the beach.
