Cable Car Pine
Pinus halepensis
Aleppo Pine Upper Rock Nature Reserve
An Aleppo pine beside the upper cable car station, framing the view across the Strait.
Story & Significance
From this pine on a clear day you can see two continents and the meeting of two seas. Pines like it were planted across the Rock in the twentieth century to stabilise slopes and green the limestone; today they are part of the reserve's living skyline.
